Loch Lomond is a National Park and there are pleanty of activities around and on the loch to keep you ocupied. Some of which are:
Cycling - For a great way to see some magnificent scenery along the loch there is a 15 mile cycle track which starts from Balloch and goes to the start of the highlands- Tarbet. Bike hire is available - Call 01389 602576 to arrange delivery to your local accommodation.
Canoe, Kayak and Pedal Boat Hire - The launch area is in a sheltered lagoon, and they have a designated area for you to sample the wonderful sport of open canoeing. Gently paddle around the sheltered lagoon on the southern point of Loch Lomond, with stunning views towards Ben Lomond and North of Loch Lomond. Their staff monitors the designated area, patrolling in a safety boat - so you can have complete peace of mind to enjoy the experience. Visit them at our hire base at Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre.But remember Loch Lomond is extremely cold and deep so swimming can be extremely dangerous.
Walking - There is a short walk to the banks from the house. All you do is turn left from the house and travel for a mile down the road back on to the A82. Cross the main road onto the path and turn right. Along for half a mile you will see a large set of gates with the Colqhuoun coat of arms on the top (if you do not want to walk down the road you can park here). By the side of the gate on the left closest to you is a secluded path which will take you by the lochside.
The West Highland Way - The West Highland Way runs for 95 miles or 152 kilometers from Milngavie, on the outskirts of Glasgow, to Fort William. It is walked by over 50,000 people each year, making it the most popular long distance walk in Scotland. Parts of the walk can be done in a few hours, such as Conic Hill which takes about three hours and is situated at the foot of Balmaha.
Golfing - The Loch Lomond Golf Club is situated two miles away. It is a members only club but is open to the public during the Invetational in July. Telephone: 01436 655555

- Salmon from 11th February to 31st October
- Sea Trout from 1st April to 31st October
- Brown Trout from 15th March to 6th October
- A permit is required for all game fishing
